The studio for mi-workshop has been updated as a design collective workspace called ‘The Bakery’. Proud to announce (although a bit late…) Set & Drift and Sheepless have joined the space. We have even started a urban communal garden we named ‘The Farm Proper’. Check out the new website for more info here.

GINGERBREAD COLLECTIVE

I had a great time working on a fun project for the Gingerbread Collective at Arclinea San Diego. I was invited to design a ‘Gingergread House’ for this event and gave it my best shot. In the end, my baking was far from successful but I didn’t let that stop me. The mi-workshop proposal was about our communities and how we live on our land. I encourage you to see the proposal in person! It is always great to see that people are also giving back. The Gingerbread Collective is supporting SECOND CHANCE,a non-profit organization helping people get jobs, education and housing.

ORCHIDS AND ONIONS

It was a pleasure serving on the jury for San Diego Architecture Foundation’s Orchids and Onions 2009. A diverse group of local art and design pro’s had a blast reviewing projects that were nominated by the public, we had a great time discussing and arguing over which project was most deserving of each category. There were definitely some really great Orchid projects and some stinky Onions as well! Keep you eyes open for projects to nominate for 2010 and don’t miss the awards ceremony!
